The Choice of Death in Our Lives

Many people are very serious about planning their future: education, career, business, retirement, and dreams. Yet surprisingly, very few ever plan—or even think about—their own death. We often ask, “What will I become in life?” but rarely ask, “If I were to die today, am I ready?” Death is not something we can avoid. It is not the enemy of life—death is part of life itself.  “Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27) 1. Life Is Full of Choices, Including the Choice of Death The Bible does not hide the reality of death. God speaks openly and honestly about it: “I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life…” (Deuteronomy 30:19) God gives humanity a choice. The tragedy is that many people live as if death does not exist.
