"China's Spiritual Pioneer" James Hudson Taylor (1832-1905)

  Calling & Ministry : Called to China at age 17, James Hudson Taylor founded the China Inland Mission in 1865, emphasizing reaching China's unreached interior regions. Ministry Work : Adopted Chinese dress and customs, lived among the Chinese people, and established missions in all 18 provinces of China. His mission became the largest Protestant mission organization in China. Sacrifices: Buried four children in China, endured multiple illnesses, faced persecution and the Boxer Rebellion. Lost his beloved wife Maria after 12 years of marriage. Impact: Over 800 missionaries served under his leadership, establishing 300 mission stations and contributing to 18,000 Chinese conversions. His approach influenced modern missions strategy. Death: Died in Changsha, China, on June 3, 1905, at age 73, still serving on the mission field.
